
Las Almorratxas
There is a version that the traditional Catalan dance Almorratxa (Dance with jars filled with perfume), the legend of which brings us in the time of Moorish and Berber tribes attacks, was first presented in the old part of the St. Florentina’s Castle.

Game of Thrones.
In autumn 2015, the Castle became a filming location for the sixth episode of the 6th season of Game of Thrones.

KIng Alfonso XIII
In 1908, King Alfonso XIII visited the Castle and spent here a few days along with his court and other well-known personalities of the time.

The first mention of the of St. Florentina’s Castle date back to the XI century.

Ferrer de Canet and the Pope
St. Florentina’s Castle got its name in honor of the relic, which was gifted to Ferrer de Canet by the Pope as a symbol of protection, and in honor of Florentina Malatto Suriñach, Ramón de Montaner’s wife.

Priorat de Tallat Monastery
The Gallery of the Castle and some windows were brought from the Priorat de Tallat Monastery.

Lluís Domènech i Montaner
The famous architect Louis Domenech i Montaner, who along with Antoni Gaudi developed Catalan modernism in Barcelona, designed the new part of the Castle.

Each architectural detail of the Castle represents a unique and incredible masterpiece. One day probably is not enough to discover all amazing elements, which decorate the Castle.

Architectural Digest
The St. Florentina’s Castle is a cultural heritage of Spain and in 1998 according to Architectural Digest Journal the Castle was listed as one of the best houses in the world.
